At the Alliance Française de Dallas, there is more than one way to learn French. Depending on your level, you can decide to enroll in formal language acquisition classes, in language workshops, literature groups or why not?… have your children learn the language for you! At AF Dallas, you learn not only French but also how to do things in French through practical use of the language.

An important part of the AD EX mission is to have kids think about the architecture and design of the world around them. We offer our popular Build Your City! program throughout the year and in a variety of locations throughout the city. Our walking tours are popular with classes and field trips…we can adjust content and duration to align with a group’s learning objectives. And we are always available to talk with teachers and parents on how to make architecture a part of their student’s lives.

Visual and performing arts

Coding Clubs and Camps are available to any student in 3rd to 12th grades. Clubs include hands-on learning in computer science and mentoring from technology professionals. In-person and virtual options available.

Game analysis, opening strategy, tactics-training, and puzzle solving skills are just some of the fun things we cover in chess class. All ages 5 and up, and complete beginners welcome too. We also review how the pieces move and piece development .

The Creative Arts Center of Dallas offers ongoing weekly studio classes or one-time workshops in a wide range of visual arts. Ours is the largest community-based visual arts education programs in the city, offering more than 500 classes for teens and adults throughout the year.

The environmental education programs at River Legacy Nature Center provide ways for children to explore their place in the natural world around them. Nature School, Summer Camps, Field Trips, and Public Programs all serve to provide a hands-on, minds-on connection with nature.

We offer a variety of online tutoring, parenting, educational consultation, and more !

All virtual classes cover pronunciation, vocabulary, new phrases, practical grammar, and culture through activities, videos, games, songs and other fun presentation elements.

We teach our classes with an immersion approach, meaning all classes are held in a “Spanish-only” environment with a native-Spanish speaking teacher. Even beginning students will be completely immersed in the Spanish language on the first day of class. Our materials are also in all Spanish. Please come to class with an open mind and relax into the rhythm of listening, speaking, reading and writing in Spanish. Adult group classes are for adults ages 18 and up. We recommend private sessions for students in middle and high school.

Classes range from Animals of Africa, Dolphin Discovery, Cheetah Chat, Meet an Elephant, Dinosaurs Amongst Us, and the list goes on!

YMCA Afterschool is offered in over 90 schools throughout 9 districts across North Texas. We operate on-site at your child's school from dismissal bell until 6:30 PM and offer a 1:15 staff to student ratio. Join us for fun and enrichment!
