North Texas Performing Arts
Founded in 1991, NTPA offers classes, camps, and productions for young people ages 5-18 and adult programming through its NTPA Repertory Theatre. NTPA develops the character of youth by fusing the magic of theatre with the principles of the NTPA Ten Characters. Through storytelling, literature, song, and dance, we empower young actors to explore life lessons in a safe and supportive environment while building confidence, resilience, and well-being before they face those challenges in the real world.
NTPA is comprised of five youth theatre troupes in Dallas, Fairview, Frisco, Plano, and Southlake, and offers specialty troupes including NTPA Academy offering an innovative academic learning environment for grades 6-12, with an enhanced focus on the fine arts; NTPA Film Studios; NTPA Starcatchers, therapeutic arts troupe for individuals with disabilities; NTPA Deaf Theatre; and NTPA Repertory Theatre, its adult theatre company.
Greater Dallas Youth Orchestra
Founded in 1972, the Greater Dallas Youth Orchestra (GDYO) is a non-profit organization that provides exceptional music education and performance opportunities for young musicians ages 6 to 18. With over 470 students from more than 150 schools, GDYO offers a range of youth ensembles, including the Philharmonic, Sinfonietta, Young Performers Orchestra, and various choirs and jazz groups. In addition to ensemble training, students benefit from enrichment programs such as partnerships with the DSO Young Strings program and the “Share the Magic” ticket initiative. Dedicated to accessibility, GDYO ensures all qualified youth can participate through financial aid, nurturing creativity, discipline, and musical excellence across the Dallas area.
