From holiday feasts to backyard BBQs, Breaking Bread is a hands-on dining etiquette experience designed to help children and tweens ages 6–14 navigate any table with confidence, comfort, and grace.
Created and led by Barbara Achilles Minardi, founder and lead educator of Reach for the Stars ATX, Breaking Bread brings modern manners and dining etiquette to life through an engaging, real-world experience.Through Barbara's engaging teaching style and passion for preparing the next generation, she makes etiquette approachable, practical, and fun—helping children understand that manners are not just about knowing which fork to use, but about making others feel comfortable and valued.
In today’s busy world, gathering around the table matters more than ever. This 3-hour children’s dining etiquette workshop, held in a private home in Lakeway, Texas, Breaking Bread teaches practical, modern etiquette while creating a fun and memorable experience. Participants learn the skills needed to feel confident at family dinners, restaurants, special occasions, and future social and professional gatherings.
During this interactive kids dining etiquette class, participants learn:

- Utensil etiquette and proper dining techniques

Students then put their skills into practice by breaking bread together over a delicious four-course, home-cooked meal. This hands-on experience allows participants to practice proper etiquette in a relaxed setting while building confidence, independence, and social skills.
