Red, White and Boom!

The Red, White and BOOM! Independence Day celebration kicks off with downtown events that include a hometown parade and the Yankee Doodle block party. Families can also explore the many dining and shopping options that downtown has to offer.

Fireworks and Concert | 6 - 10 p.m.

McKinney High School and Towne Lake Park, 1405 Wilson Creek Pkwy

Enjoy professional fireworks at Red, White and BOOM! but remember, other fireworks are illegal within city limits.

The city’s grand fireworks finale will be launched over the beautiful Towne Lake. Activities will take place in the grass lot across the street from Towne Lake Park next to McKinney High School.

Stay Safe on the Roads:  While it's tempting to pull over to witness the fireworks display, stopping on the side of roadways can pose significant safety risks, including accidents and traffic congestion.

What to Bring to the Event

  • Permitted Items
    • Lawn chairs and blankets
    • Coolers with food / snacks and non-alcoholic beverages
    • Canopies are allowed in designated area only and must be taken down by 9 p.m.
  • Prohibited Items
    • Alcohol
    • Glass containers
    • On-site grilling
    • Weapons (except legally permitted firearms)
  • Pets at the Event 

Event Safety

  • Information Booths (located on the north, south, and east sides of the event grounds) will have:
    • Lost Child Bands
    • Lost and Found
  • First Aid Tents will be located on the west and east sides of the event grounds.

Photography Policy

Photos taken during the event by the City of McKinney are subject to use in future promotional materials and are the sole property of the City of McKinney. Entering the event grounds allows the City of McKinney to use your photo. If your photo is used, you will not be entitled to compensation.
