Explore the Fascinating Science + Art of Fungi at Indoor Arlington Mushroom Farm

Curious explorers ages 8+ will find lots of interesting things to learn at this urban mushroom farm in Arlington, Texas. This indoor learning experience is fun activity for families wanting to explore agriculture and science, couples seeking a novel date idea, homeschoolers searching for their next field trip, retirees scouting for interesting activities, or anyone who's curious to see how our favorite fungi grow.

Participants will explore the journey of mushrooms, from cultivation to consumption, highlighting the eco-friendly and health benefits of Mushroom Street's urban farming practices. The farm staff are extremely knowledgeable and love answering questions of all types.

Discounts offered for children age 8-12 and seniors 65 and older. All adult and senior tickets also include a $5 credit to the farm store full of delicious and fun mushroom products. Carried babies can join (for free), but unfortunately this experience is not suitable for young children 3-7.

Learn the Science of Your Favorite Fungi

Participants will learn about the history of the farm, how mushrooms are grown, and see a variety of mushrooms in the farm's greenhouses. You will also be able to ask questions of the mushroom farm staff, who will customize the tour to engage a the specific audience.

Participants will see the growing process from spawn to mycelium to fruiting, including how this farm makes its own substrate. Pick up tips to try at home or in your classroom. You can also take home one of their variety of mushroom-powder-based spices, rubs, or dried mushrooms, along with recipe suggestions. 

Mushroom Farm: Covid-Era Hobby Turned Serious Business

Mushroom Street Farms Urban Cultivators grows gourmet and medicinal mushrooms in an urban micro-farm with a high-tech lab located in the suburbs of Dallas/Fort Worth Texas. 

What started as a family COVID project has now sprouted into a full-fledged clean room, green house, and retail offerings – co-located with the family’s other business of a web design firm. Mushroom Street specializes in connecting with everyday chefs to the nuanced flavors and diverse uses of this favorite fungus.
